GAS MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS
Alarms Systems and Networks
All alarms and operational data right where you need it.
AREA OF USE
The Alarm Management System is an integral component of the Dräger Gas Management System. It allows comprehensive monitoring of your medical gas supply system. Emergency and operational signals are recorded by data collectors and made accessible to the entire network. Data can be displayed either locally or at a central monitoring station.
INTELLIGENT COMPONENTS
The system consists of a series of separate components which communicate via data line. Each component is designed for a specific task and is capable of processing the necessary signals from the system. A special alarm system interface collects the data from the pressure monitoring and the optional gas consumption meters and makes these available to the system. Alarm signals can then be transferred to a Monitor 6G or a Monitor LLT, or even to a central Building Management System, independently.
INTERFACE MODULE
To transfer signals and readings from the Alarm Management System to a central Building Management System, the GMS Gateway is used. The Gateway translates the signals from the Alarm Management System into the LONWorks standard, which can be processed by most conventional process control systems.
Area Control Systems
Area Control Units ensure monitoring and controlling of gas supply in all clinical areas close to the points of use.
AREA OF USE
Area Control Units are designed to house cutoff valves as well as control monitors for medical gas systems. They are integrated into the functional units of hospitals, allowing gases to be shut off selectively in separate areas.
MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS
Both technically and visually, the Dräger Area Control Unit provides harmonious integration in any hospital setting. The individual display labeling allows easy recognition of pressure values, as well as operational and alarm signals. Depending on customer needs, the Area Control Unit can be fitted with any medical gas or vacuum. The compact, stainless steel casing can be recessed in dry wall, in conventional brick walls or mounted directly onto the wall. In an emergency, the door can be opened using the patented emergency button. The easily visible valves can then be shut off quickly and securely.

Compressed Air Systems
Uninterrupted supply, reliability and Pharmacopoeia compliant quality is what counts.
CONTINUOUS FUNCTIONALITY
The Dräger compressed air systems use 3 separate compressors, each with 2 redundant pressure tanks, filter systems, compressed air conditioners and pressure reducer stations. This makes maintenance and repairs possible without interruption of the air supply, offering additional operational security. Also, the system function is continuously monitored automatically, malfunctions are displayed immediately and can be transmitted to the hospital Building Management System (BMS).
COMPACT COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEMS
Aside from compressed air systems built from separate components, Dräger also offers compact compressed air systems. All the necessary components are mounted on one pressure tank, complete with pipes and cables. The advantages here clearly include rapid installation and readiness as well as very little space requirement.
CONTROL UNIT
The control unit maintains an even utilisation of the compressors and transmits alarm signals to the Building Management System. Other functions, such as the operation running time meter and start-up regulation are also controlled by this unit.
Cylinder Manifolds
Area Control Units ensure monitoring and controlling of gas supply in all clinical areas close to the points of use.
AREA OF USE
Dräger gas control stations regulate and control the central supply of medical gases from cylinder manifolds or liquid tanks (vacuum insulated evaporators) in hospitals, laboratories and industrial settings.
Consumption measurement and Range calculation
The GCS Control models are equipped with an electric control unit which monitors all system parameters: Source, mean and operational pressure, position of the switching valve, flow rate of the selected gas (optional) and temperature. The control unit allows for comprehensive alarm management which transmits alarm signals to external alarm systems, consumption measurement with a weekly overview as well as documentation of all alarm signals with indication of the time and date for each. The GCS monitors all active and passive gas source pressures that are required for secure, uninterrupted system operation. If a pressure parameter deviates significantly from the nominal pressure, an alarm is immediately generated to indicate the malfunction. For centralised control of gas consumption, the GCS can optionally be equipped with the Dräger VoluCount gas sensor unit™. This module can be added either during initial installation or at a later date. Via the GCS control unit, the module displays the current consumption rate, a weekly consumption overview and an average weekly consumption rate, each with the possibility of displaying values for the individual weekdays.

Terminal Units
Dräger’s decades of experience, millions of units sold and constant improvement ensure you can rely on our gas outlets. Every time, every day.
TERMINAL UNITS
wherever they are required. Extensive installation opportunities make it possible to position the gas terminal units wherever they are needed, guaranteeing an ergonomic arrangement of equipment and fulfilling smooth work-flow requirements. They can be installed for example, directly into the wall or even into the bedhead units. Particularly in medical supply units used in induction rooms, ORs, Intensive- and normal wards, the required gases as well as vacuum can be supplied reliably and at all times.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Flexible installation of gas terminal units allow for egonomic, workflow oriented positioning of equipment. Gas-type specific coding ensures that connections are safe and unmistakable. They can be installed in walls, in lighting or electrical ducts or in supply units in any medical workspace.
COLOR CODING
Currently, color coding is possible acc. to ISO 32 or in color neutral. For safety reasons, neutral color coding is recommended to avoid the risk of false operation as well as to make the change to a new color system easier for staff. When installing new terminal units or in the case of maintenance, it is also recommended to change to a unified color system in related work areas. This way, complete cost intensive conversions that have not been planned, can be avoided.
Vacuum Systems
Vacuum is essential for many OR and ICU procedures. Our systems combine reliability, constant under pressure and best-in-class hygiene.
SYSTEM DESIGN
Quality and reliability are top priorities for our medical supply systems. That is why we emphasize absolute compliance with all pertinent regulations and quality guidelines during the project planning and installation phases of all systems. Dräger builds vacuum plants according to ISO 7396-1. This quality approach is also valid for every single component of the system.
USER FRIENDLY
Thanks to the MVC, Dräger vacuum systems are extremely user friendly. The constant control of the vacuum supply using state-of-the-art sensors combined with PLC ensure fully automatic operation. An integrated, multilingual text display provides comprehensive information on alarm status, operational status and service intervals, keeping you informed as to the condition of your system at a glance.
ALARM INTEGRATION
The Medical Vacuum Control monitors and switches the vacuum pumps to ensure an even aggregate load and alert you to any system malfunction as early as possible. Both control and alarm signals can be transferred to external systems via potential free contacts, or be fed directly to the optional Dräger Alarm Management System (AMS).
AMS manages all the alarms that the Gas Management System can provide and can also transfer those alarms to your existing building management system.
